Everyone is familar with the Judaism & Christianity of the Bible, but an older aspect is not usually given much attention. We know of the 2000 year period from Adam til Abraham, Job in the book of Job, Cornelius & other devout men in the book of Acts ect... This 3rd aspect is called a folk religion of "General Revelation"& it existed in various cultures into the 19th even 20th century.

In Burma-(Myammar) & Thailand are a people-the Karen, today many are Protestant Christians for the Gospel reached them in the early 19th century. Before that they had one of the most pure aspects of this folk religion. In south central Ethiopia there are a people- the Gedeo they had this folk religion until Dec. 1948 when the Gospel reached them. China had this folk religion from its earliest times til 1000-700 B.C when there was a falling away from it & Confucism, Daoism & eventually Bhuddism became the major religions of China. Then socialism & communism came in the 19th & early 20th century. The book that talks about this and more is Eternity In Their Hearts by Don Richardson Regal Books 1981 revised 1984 at Amazon or any book store. It makes sense of the 6000 year history of man-a trinity or trichotomy of true religion of the Bible. Christianity-2000 years, Judaism-4000 years, folk religion of General Revelation-6000 years. One true religion but three aspects of it. This folk religion in many ways resembled the O.T. Judaism. We know that Judaism & Christianity are "Specific Revelation" because of the written Word-Old & New Testements.
